Abstract

1500056 Antiskid brake control systems TELDIX GmbH 16 May 1975 [17 May 1974] 20947/75 Heading F2F An antilock control system for four wheeled vehicles in which signals related to wheel speed or deceleration, steering angle and/or vehicle transverse acceleration for two diagonally opposite wheels 1 and 4 are fed to an evaluation circuit 13 to produce signals for transmission to a control unit 10 to regulate brake pressure at wheels 1 and 4, circuit 13 also operating a blocking valve 14 to cut off supply to the brake line of the rear wheel which is not one of the diagonally opposite wheels. Evaluation circuit (Fig. 2).-Sensors 6a and 4a for wheel speed are connected to terminals 20 and 21, change-over switch 22 alternately connecting terminals 20 and 22 into the circuit which further comprises converter 23, signal processing unit 24 and logic unit 25. Acceleration and deceleration valves (-b, + b 1 and b 2 ) are computed in unit 24 by differentiation of the incoming speed signals, and ship signals are derived by means of store 24b and comparators 24c, all signals from unit 24 being fed to logic unit 25 for control of valve 10. A steering angle signal is fed in at terminal 30, a comparator 31 emitting an output signal when the actual steering angle exceeds a preset value. A vehicle speed signal from store 24b is fed to a comparator 32 which emits an output signal characteristic of a range within which the speed signal falls, the outputs from comparators 31 and 32 being fed to AND-gates 33 and OR-gate 34 such that the OR-gate 34 gives an output if a certain steering angle is exceeded for a given speed range which may then cause a brake pressure reduction either by being fed into unit 24 or according to the state of bi-stable 27, also dependent on the input signal to valve 10, controlling a blocking valve 14 in the brake line to rear wheel 3. In a second embodiment a signal representing transverse acceleration may be used instead of, or in addition to, the steering angle signal to control valve 10.
