Abstract

1498947 Nozzles BOC INTERNATIONAL Ltd 28 Aug 1975 [28 Aug 1974] 37613/74 Heading F4T A cutting blowpipe nozzle comprises a cutting oxygen passage 2 terminating at an end face 10, and preheat passages 8 for mixing of fuel gas and oxygen, each of the passages 8 having a cross-sectional shape with three apices. The outlet for passages 8 may be a circular series of passages or an annular passage. The crosssectional shape may be an equilateral, ososceles, or irregular triangle, which may have curved sides, and the nozzle may be of one-piece or two piece construction. When the latter construction is chosen, the preheat passages 16, Figs. 4, 5 are formed as slots on the inside member 10, the bore of outer member 18 forming the bases of the triangular passages.
