1498927 Suspending curtains H W FISHER 27 May 1976 22091/76 Heading A4B A curtain suspension assembly has a reversible motor or hand operated drive which rotates a flexible coil 6 or 25 of helically wound wire or strip which runs within a channel 5 or 24 in a rod or rail 1 or 22, the coil 6 or 25 having two sections of opposite hand to move a pair of curtains in opposite directions, the assembly including traction hangers 9, 13 or 29, each including a rod or peg 11, 15 or 20, extending on to the free central space within the coil 6 or 25 and directly engaging the coil between adjacent convolutions, and non- driven hangers 12, 8 or 28 passed over the rod or rail (Fig. 5) or received by a channel 14 or 24 (Figs. 3, 5) within it. In two embodiments, Figs. 1, 3, the rail is fitted with an outer sleeve 2 giving the impression of a conventional curtain pole. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, the runners slide along a lip 26 of the rail 22 which also includes a channel 23 to receive rail supports.
