Abstract

1498922 Spot-type disc brakes DBA SA 12 Jan 1976 [7 Feb 1975] 01029/76 Heading F2E The brake has actuating means (e.g. a hydraulic piston shown in section in Fig. 4) associated with a caliper 10 movable relative to a fixed support (not shown), to apply a first friction element 20, which is slidable relative to the caliper, the second friction element 28 being applied by reaction; the first friction element 20 is slidable on and anchored on at least two (two, as shown) extensions 34 of the second friction element 28 extending substantially parallel to the direction along which the first friction element 20 is slidable. As shown, each extension 34 has at least one surface 38 co-operating with a corresponding surface 40 on the caliper 10 to transmit torque; each surface 40 is provided at one axial edge of a rectangular aperture 36. The extensions 34 are formed by bent parts of the backing plate of element 28. The caliper is slidable but may instead be pivoted.
