Abstract

1498830 Magnetic brush developing apparatus XEROX CORP 24 April 1975 [29 April 1974] 17036/75 Heading G2H The apparatus comprises means for varying the width of the band of developer forming the brush to match the width of a copy sheet to which a developed image is to be transferred. The band of developer is attracted from a sump on to the outer surface of a non-magnetic rotatable cylinder by a magnetic field emanating from a magnet housed within the cylinder, the axial length of which field may be varied by varying the length of the magnet per se or by the inter-position of a magnetic shunt over one end of the magnet.
