Abstract

1498673 Egg-boiling vessels; egg cups F SERENO 9 April 1975 [9 April 1974] 14588/75 Headings A4A and A4D A vessel for supporting or containing eggs during boiling or subsequent consumption has a semi-ovoid portion 1 integral with an external casing 4 having a flat open base and side surfaces, the portion 1 and the casing 4 being joined at one end but separate at the other end of each thus during boiling, allowing hot cooking liquid to enter the cavity formed between them and heat the portion 1, the outer casing keeping the semiovoid portion upright during boiling and consumption of the egg, the side surfaces of the casing being pierced with one or more vents 5 which allow air to escape when the vessel is placed in the cooking liquid. The vessel may be provided with a cover 2, partly or wholly transparent to place over the vessel during cooking and on the base of the vessel during subsequent consumption of the egg.
