Abstract

1498297 Cementitious adhesive composition BUILDING ADHESIVES Ltd 9 Feb 1976 [22 Feb 1975 3 Sept 1975] 7544/75 and 36259/75 Heading C1H [Also in Division C3] A composition for use in the installation of ceramic tiles consists of an hydraulic cement which is a mixture of 15 to 75 parts by weight Portland cement (e.g. white or grey) and 2À5 to 20 parts by weight high alumina cement, 10 to 50 parts by weight natural or synthetic rubber crumb, and 15 to 50 parts by weight of an aqueous latex of natural or synthetic rubber or an aqueous emulsion of a polymer of a vinyl ester or an acrylic ester, the composition being obtained by mixing on site a powder component incorporating the hydraulic cement and rubber crumb, and the liquid component of latex or polymer emulsion. The powder component may include inert filler (e.g. silica sand, quartz, marble, anorthosite, molochite), cellulose ether, or partially hydrolysed polyvinyl alcohol. In the examples, compositions contain, besides the cement mixture and rubber crumb, cellulose ether, silica sand, SBR latex and stabilized rubber latex.
