Abstract

1498100 Container traffic vehicle unloading A C PENMAN Ltd 30 March 1976 [24 April 1975] 16939/75 Heading B8Q A container transport vehicle has a frame 11, 12 on a chassis 10 mounting rams 22 in longitudnally spaced pairs and twistlocks 14 at the ends of the transverse members 12. Each pair of rams 22 is connected by a yoke 23 having a thrust member 25 depending from each end which slidably engages a channel guide in a slot of the frame 11, 12 to prevent lateral thrust on the rams as the container is centralized. Guide blocks 26, 27 are mounted in pairs on the yoke 23 and as the rams are extended co-operate with projections 30 on the base 16 of a container 17 to centre the container over the vehicle so that the twistlocks 14 can engage in the corner fittings 15.
