Abstract

1497618 Ureas containing perfluorohydrocarbyl sulphonyl radicals BAYER AG 14 April 1975 [17 April 1974] 15154/75 Heading C2C [Also in Division D1] The invention relates to compounds of the formula wherein R F is a perfluoroalkyl radical of the formula -C n F 2n+1 or a perfluorocycloalkyl radical of the formula -C n F 2n-1 , n being an integer of from 5 to 12, Y is -O- or m being an integer from 1 to 4, Ar is an optionally alkyl- or halogen-substituted C 6 -C 15 aromatic hydrocarbon radical, X is the same as Ar or is a C 1 -C 18 (cyclo) alkylene radical, and R<SP>1</SP> is -H, -NH 2 , -NCO, -NHCOOR<SP>11</SP>, -NHCONHR<SP>11</SP>, -OSO 2 R F , or wherein R<SP>11</SP> is a C 1 -C 18 alkyl group. They may be obtained by reaction of (a) the corresponding perfluoroalkane sulphonic acid amino aryl esters or N-aminophenyl-N-alkyl perfluoroalkene sulphonamides of the formula by reaction with isocyanates of the formula OCN-X-R<SP>1</SP>, e.g. X(NCO) x wherein x is 1 or 2, or (b) isocyanates of the formula with the corresponding amines of the formula e.g. X(NH 2 ) 2 , and (c) the isocyanato and amino substituted perfluoroalkane sulphonic acid esters or sulphonamides of the above formulµ with each other. The products are useful for impregnating textiles and paper, and for finishing leather.
