Abstract

1310823 Fluoroamides RIMAR SpA 14 April 1970 [16 April 1969 4 June 1969] 17780/70 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and D1] Amides containing a perfluoralkyl group of the formula -C z F 2z+1 , wherein z is an integer from 5 to 11, may be prepared by reacting an aliphatic polyamine or a substituted or unsubstituted aziridine with a compound containing the group C z F 2z+1 CO- such as a halide or ester of the corresponding perfluorinated acid. The aliphatic polyamine suitably has the formula NH 2 [(CH 2 ) r -NH] n R, wherein R is a C 1-6 alkyl group, r is 2 to 6 and n is 1 to 8. In specific examples, C 7 F 25 COOC 2 H 5 is reacted with (1) aziridine and (4) C 2 H 5 -(NH-C 2 H 4 ) 4 -NH 2 , C 7 F 15 COCl is reacted with (8) aziridine, C 8 F 17 - COOCH 3 is reacted with (10) C 2 H 5 -(NHC 2 H 4 ) 4 -NH 2 , C 8 F 17 COCl is reacted with (11) aziridine, C 9 F 19 COOC 2 H 5 is reacted with (13) aziridine. The amides may be reacted with polyurethane prepolymers to provide polymers suitable for treating fabrics (see Divisions C3 and D1-D2).
