Abstract

1497561 Valves ATLAS COPCO AB 26 Feb 1975 [11 March 1974] 7996/75 Heading F2V A piston 22 is controlled in a cylinder 21 by a circuit in which a housing 11 is provided with passages, 25, 26 for motive pressure air, and 12 for exhaust; and contains a shiftable valve body 18 for controlling the passages; at least one of the passages being for the release of air to atmosphere and having flow resisting means 27 with a diffuser shaped outlet. By the use of a flow restrictor as shown with a fixed flow cross-section and a critical pressure ratio exceeding 0À7 the restriction of piston speed is independent of supply pressure. Exchangeable flow restrictors with differing diffuser shapes are described with reference to Figs. 3, 4, 5 (not shown) and flow characteristics are given in Fig. 6 (not shown).
