Abstract
1497360 Welding by fusion and pressure; brazing MOTOREN - UND TURBINENUNION MUNCHEN GmbH 4 March 1976 [8 March 1975] 8776/76 Heading B3R [Also in Division F1] A bladed rotor, e.g. for the compressor of a gas turbine engine, is made by forming a transition member 4 by explosion welding a steel or steel alloy inner ring 2 to a titanium or titanium alloy outer ring 1 and then fusion welding member 4 at 6 and 7 respectively to the steel disc 5 and to the titanium blades 8. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the outer and inner rings are formed of arcuate segments (9, 10 respectvely).
