Abstract

1497136 Purifying air from ozone INST FIZICHE KHIMII IM LV PISARZHEVSKOGO AKAD NAUK UKRAIN SSR 1 Sept 1975 35942/75 Heading C1A Air is purified from ozone admixtures by contacting the air containing ozone in an amount above 0À05 p.p.m. with a silver-manganese catalyst based on manganese dioxide. The purification may be carried out at temperatures from room temperature up to 250‹ C. by passing the air through a base of granulated catalyst. The granulated catalyst may be synthetic manganese dioxide promoted with 2À2 wt. per cent of silver, based on the weight of catalyst, or natural pyrolusite (containing a minimum of 80 wt. per cent active MnO 2 ) promoted with 1 wt. per cent of silver, based on the weight of the catalyst.
