Abstract

1496941 Hydrogen M SUKUKI 24 Feb 1975 [1 March 1974] 7627/75 Heading C1A [Also in Division B2] A composite for manufacturing hydrogen by contact with water containing at least 1% of NaCl, KCI, Na 2 SO 4 and/or K 2 SO 4 is made by attaching powder of one or more of Fe, Ni, Zn, Cr and Mn, or oxidized powder thereof, having a mesh size finer than 200 mesh Tyler, in an amount of 0À01-30%, to the surface of magnesium (e.g. in the form of powder, granules, plates or foils) by pressurized friction. In examples the Mg is mixed with the powder in a mortar and stirred with a pestle or powder is put on an Mg ribbon which is then lightly rolled.
