Abstract

1496684 Device for monitoring a component of a fluid IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 22 April 1975 [13 May 1974] 20974/74 Heading G1B The concentration of a component in a fluid medium is monitored by passing a tape, on which is carried a suitable indicator either through, or adjacent an aperture in, an examination chamber which comprises ports and an impellor for passing the fluid therethrough along the surface of the tape. The tape may be of paper and the tape transport mechanism may comprise a mechanically driven drum or roller. The impellor may impart a rotary motion to the fluid and the chamber may have curved walls to aid this, e.g. it may be cylindrical, the inlet being tangential and counter to the direction of rotation of the impellor and the outlet being coaxial with the chamber.
