Abstract
1496254 Amino acid mixtures AJINOMOTO CO Inc 28 July 1975 31566/75 Heading A5B An infusion solution for intravenous nutrition comprises a solution in water of the following amino acids in proportion expressed in mole ratio per 1.00 mole isoleucine: L-isoleucine 1.00 L-leucine 1.58-3.31 L-lysine 1.03-5.44 L-methionine 0.31-1.38 L-phenylalanine 0.28-1.25 L-threonine 0.79-3.43 L-tryptophan 0.39-1.25 L-valine 2.71-4.18 the solution having a pH of 4.9 to 7.8, and being free of cysteine and emulsifier, and the total concentration of amino acids being from 8 to 20% by weight. The solution may also contain 0.19-0.66 mole L-histidine, optionally with 0.79-3.00 moles L-arginine and 1.08-1.41 moles L-tyrosine, per 1.00 mole isoleucine. When present, the L-tyrosine can be in the free form or as N-acetyl-L-tyrosine or other compounds providing L-tyrosine in vivo. The solution may be put up in infusion bottles under a nitrogen atmosphere and sterilised by autoclaving.
