1495502 Self-extinguishing polymers and blends SOC ITALIANA RESINE SIR SpA 8 Nov 1974 [28 Nov 1973] 48553/74 Heading C3P A fibre-forming copolymer consists of units derived from acrylonitrile (at least 73%), a neutral monomer (2-11%) and a monomer of formula where R is hydrogen or methyl and n is 1- (4-16%). A polymer composition comprises a copolymer of acrylonitrile and the brominated monomer and a copolymer of acrylonitrile and the neutral monomer in amounts to give the above quoted composition. In all cases a sulphonic acid monomer can be present to confer dyeability. The polymers and compositions can be prepared by conventional techniques.
