Abstract

1495169 Cementitious layers ROHM & HAAS CO 22 Dec 1975 [28 Jan 1975] 52438/75 Heading C1H [Also in Division B2] A fully cured layer of Portland cement composition is obtained by forming a mixture of Portland cement, aggregate and 5-15% (on the weight of the cement) of an anionic dispersant, applying the mixture to a substrate in a layer of thickness 1/32 to ¢ inch and allowing the layer to cure. The mixture may be a mortar mixture. The anionic dispersant may be an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salt of alkylaryl sulphonic acid, lignosulphonic acid, or alkoxysulphosuccinic acid or a condensate of arylsulphonic acid and formaldehyde. Particularly preferred is a sodium salt of a naphthalene sulphonic acid/formaldehyde condensate. The mixture may contain a defoamer.
