Abstract

1494735 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems BRITISH GAS CORP 2 Jan 1975 [3 Jan 1974] 00158/74 Heading G3P Apparatus for controlling a distribution generator 2, 3 in a domestic or commercial gas supply line so as to regulate the pressure of the gas in the line to values creating sufficient flow-rate for the demand, comprises a loading unit 5 operable by a differential pressure created by means 6 located in the line downstream of the governor. The differential pressure sensed at 6 and suitably modified by restrictors 14, 15, 18, is supplied to the unit 5 to adjust the flow area of a valve 31 controlling the inflow of gas supplied from a constant pressure regulator 7. The flow area of the valve 31 and of a bleed orifice 12 determine the gas pressure developed in chamber 22 and line 13. This generated pressure acts on differential diaphragms 25, 26 to further adjust the valve 31 and moreover is communicated with the governor control 2 via pressure stabilizer 8 to alter set pressure point of the governor control 2 which, as shown, is responsive to downstream pressure.
