Abstract

1494084 Pipe joint BRITISH GAS CORP 23 April 1975 [23 April 1974] 17679/74 Heading F2G An adaptor suitable for connection of a plastics pipe 8 to a fitting within a metal meter box 9 comprises a body 1 having at respective ends a tapered screw thread 2 and pipe connector A, B, and further including an intermediate parallel screw-threaded portion 3 receivable into a meter body to abut an adjacent flange 6 having spanner flats. Preferably the body is secured within the meter box via locking nut 4 on fibre washer 5. The end connection is preferably of the type known per se A, B, wherein a plastics pipe 8 is receivable on to a serrated tubular portion 10 and locked and sealed by the action of bore nut 13 on a deformable member 12 and wedge 11.
