Abstract

1493334 Cleaning metal sheets SCHLEIFENBAUM & STEINMETZ 27 March 1975 [30 March 1974] 12947/75 Heading C7E A metal sheet is cleaned by passing a cleaning liquid transversely to the direction of movement of the sheet either from one edge to the other, from both edges to the centre or from the centre outwardly. The sheet may be horizontal, inclined or vertical. As shown in Fig. 1, a sheet 4 is passed between rubber or plastics covered rollers 2, 3, and guide walls 6<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>2</SP> which direct the cleaning liquid across the sheet. In a modification Fig. 4, (not shown) the guide walls 6 are replaced by rollers which engage the rollers 2, 3.
