Abstract

1493042 Switch contacts; printed circuits FUJI POLYMER INDUSTRIES CO Ltd 7 Jan 1975 [11 Jan 1974] 590/75 Heading H1N and H1R A resiliently flexible board-like component for use in keyboard switch assemblies comprises a preformed insulating rubber board 4 coated with conductive paint at specific locations (2A, Figs. 1 and 5, not shown) to form contacts thereon, the method of manufacture comprising spreading a thin layer 2 of electrically conductive paint on a flat plate 1, surmounting this with a mask 3 and the rubber board 4, applying pressure means to the board 4 so that those portions 4A which are not masked are forced into contact with the paint 2, removing the pressure and allowing the paint to dry. The pressure means is preferably a roller (6, Fig. 4, not shown), the board is preferably cured silicone rubber, and the paint comprises conductive particles in a commerical paint or in a rubber (preferably a curable silicone rubber) dispersion in water or a solvent. The roller (6) may be stationary and the component 4 in the form of a moving belt which is later cut into segments.
