Abstract

1490805 Pulleys ELECTROLUX Ltd 14 Nov 1975 [5 Dec 1974] 47057/75 Headings F2Q and F2U A pulley 17 is mounted on the end of a drive shaft 10 of an electric motor by means of a closed sleeve 12 of electrically insulating material, the pulley being of a material of high heat conductivity, such as copper or aluminium and having outwardly extending flanges 18 to disperse frictional heat generated in the event of belt slip. The shaft end 11, sleeve 12 and pulley 17 are of D-shape in cross-section. To increase heat transfer, a plurality of blades 19 may be formed on each flange 18. Alternatively holes may be formed in the flanges 18.
