Abstract

1490795 Spot-type disc brakes; slackadjusting DEUTSCHE PERROT-BREMSE GmbH 30 Jan 1975 [18 Feb 1974 7 Aug 1974] 4148/75 Heading F2E A hydraulically-operated disc brake, Fig. 1, has a pair of mechanically-operated parking brakes opposite each other across the disc 4 and having their own brake linings, Fig. 3, the parking brakes being adapted to be actuated synchronously by an actuating device, e.g. cable line 6, Fig. 2, common to the pair and situated on the periphery of the disc brake, which actuating device engages with two levers 7, 8, associated respectively with the two parking brakes, the respective lever shafts 9, 10, Fig. 3, being disposed perpendicularly to the brake axis, and respective thrust devices (e.g. a cam 15, Fig. 5, on the respective shaft) for the parking brakes each associated with a lever shaft and engaging with a pressure member (e.g. cam follower 16, lining support 18 and all components therebetween, Fig. 5) acting on the brake lining 19 of the respective parking brake. For slack adjustment, and considering shaft 9, a pin 30, Fig. 3, extending from shaft 9 into a slot 29, Fig. 4, provided in an additional ring 26, moves only a distance L<SP>1</SP> during brake application before wear occurs; when sufficient wear has occurred, pin 30 rotates ring 26 until locking-teeth on the ring jump one tooth relative to mating teeth 25, Fig. 3, on an externally screw-threaded ring 17, Figs. 3, 5, so that, on brake release, ring 17 unscrews out of lining support 18 to lengthen the pressure member. In Figs. 6 to 8 (not shown) the cable line 6 is omitted and levers 7, 8 point almost towards each other; between them is located a square lever plate (31) which has two opposite corners pivotted to the respective levers, one other corner pivotted to a tie rod (37) and the remaining corner connected by a spring (39) to a boss (41) on one of the levers. When the tie rod is pulled for application, both levers are forced to rotate counter-clockwise.
