Abstract

1490614 Knitting machines S P SMITH 2 March 1976 [6 March 1975] 9329/75 Heading D1C A flat-bed knitting machine is used as a high-pile machine. A number of knitting yarns are fed to the needles by guides 5 and the movement of the plate which carries a number of needle cams is varied so that a continuous fabric is formed. Fibres from card covered roller 2 are taken by latch needles 4, air being blown through slot 7a in tube 7 to straighten fibres taken into the needle hooks, loose fibres being taken into hood 9. The knitted fabric is laid in folds.
