1489770 Tetrahydro - 1,3,5 - thiadiazine - 2- thiones SCHULKE & MAYR GmbH 24 Dec 1974 [6 March 1974 (2)] 17135/76 Divided out of 1489769 Heading C2C Novel tetrahydro - 1,3,5 - thiadiazine - 2- thiones of the general formula wherein one of R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> is -A-O-R<SP>5</SP> and the other is -H or -A-O-R<SP>5</SP>, A is a straight- or branched-chain C 1-12 aliphatic, C 3-6 cycloaliphatic, aromatic or araliphatic residue and R<SP>5</SP> is a straight- or branched-chain C 1-3 aliphatic hydrocarbon residue, are prepared by reacting H 2 N-A-O-R<SP>5</SP> with CS 2 , formaldehyde and, when one of R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> is -H, ammonia, the molar ratio of H 2 N-A-O-R<SP>5</SP> : CS 2 : formaldehyde being 2 : 1 : 2 and that of H 2 N-A-O-R<SP>5</SP> : CS 2 : formaldehyde : NH 3 being 1 : 1 : 2 : 1. Microbiocidal compositions comprise, as active ingredient, at least one tetrahydro-1,3,5-thiadiazine-2-thione of the first general formula above, in association with inert carriers.
