Abstract
1489747 Crop sprayers HUGHES STEEL PRODUCTS PTY Ltd 23 Jan 1975 [27 Feb 1974] 8961/74 Heading AID An agricultural spraying implement, comprising a wheeled vehicle having a chassis supporting a tank connected to pivotable spray arms has a constant positive displacement pump which in use of the implement, is driven from the vehicle wheels via a chain and sprocket system so as to discharge liquid from nozzles on the spray arms at a rate directly related to the ground speed of the vehicle. In the embodiment shown, two spray arms 11, pivotably mounted on the chassis, are supported in the operative position (Fig. 3) by cables 14, 15. In the inoperative position (Fig. 2) the spray arms 11 are folded to lie alongside the tank 16. The pumping rake may be varied by the use of different diameter sprocket wheels 20 on the pump driving shaft 19.
