Abstract

1489008 Control of open-end spinning frames TOYODA JIDOSHOKKI SEISAKUSHO KK and DAIWA BOSEKI KK 22 May 1975 22301/75 Heading DID In an open end spinning frame with a plurality of spinning units each comprising a spinning rotor 1 with a common motor 20, fiber supply rollers 6, take-up roller 3 and winding roller 4 with a common drive motor 32, the timing of operation of the various rollers during starting and stopping spinning is based on a measurement of yarn length. The yarn, length measurement is made by a photo sensor 35, 36 associated with a perforated disc 34 on the winding roller or take up roller shafts. Pulses from this sensor are counted by a device having three counters to operate the forward/reverse rotation of winding rollers 4 and take up rollers 3 and the rotation of feed rollers 6. The control is exercised by means of electromagnetic clutches and brakes. An alternative length measurer employs a magnetic sensor and a disc with protruberances of magnetic material. A suitable circuit is described in association with a timing diagram.
