Abstract

1488959 Rocket combustion chamber and thrust nozzle MESSERSCHMITT-BOLKOWBLOHM GmbH 27 March 1975 [19 April 1974] 13039/75 Headings F1J and F1L A regeneratively cooled rocket combustion chamber and thrust nozzle is formed from a basic body 1 forged from corrossion-resistant steel or a nickel or cobalt alloy, and having cooling channels 2 cut therein and covered by an intermediate layer 4 of gold or other precious metal or precious metal alloy, and a final pressure casing 5 of nickel or nickel-cobalt alloy. The intermediate layer and pressure casing are deposited on the main body by a galvanic process. The intermediate layer may be formed from alternate layers of gold and copper. During the galvanic process, the channels are filled with a wax base filling compound made conductive by the addition of a semi-colloidal graphite powder in 15-30% concentration.
