1487776 Mixing plant H NIELSEN & SON MASKINFABRIK AS 23 Dec 1974 [28 Dec 1973] 55639/74 Heading B1C [Also in Divisions El F4 and G1] In a plant producing aggregate-filled asphalt incorporating a mixer 2 fed with hot asphalt through pipe 1 and with sized dried aggregate from a weigher 4 and sizing bins 22 .. 28, wherein the bins underlie sieves 21, 25 fed through an elevator shaft 18 from a drier 9 having a mixed aggregate input 8, the vapour and dust in the mixer 2 are sucked out through or around the aggregate supply conduits and are burned in the drier 9, whereafter the combustion products, together with dust from the input aggregate at 8, are sucked through a cleaner 12 (e.g. a cyclone) to a chimney 16. A warm air-tight suction path from the mixer 2 to the drier 9 is provided through the weigher (at 31) and sizing bins (at 36) to a housing 38 enclosing the sieves, and thence through the elevator shaft 18 to the drier 9. The drier 9 may be rotary and has an oil-fired burner 10. The weigher 4 has a bottom shutter 5 whereby while one aggregate/asphalt batch is being mixed for eventual discharge through gate 7 to a truck, the next aggregate batch can be made up. The two multi-layer sieves 21, 25 are associated with a shaft 29 for oversize aggregate.
