Abstract

1487392 Carton DRG PACKAGING Ltd 15 Jan 1975 [18 Jan 1974] 02555/74 Heading B8P A reclosable container comprises a body portion 10 formed of foldable sheet material and including base, sides and a flap 16 hinged to the upper edge 32 of one of the sides; and a lid 24 which is a separate tray-shaped moulding of thermoplastics material to fit firmly but removably on to the top of the container body, the hinged flap being adhered to the under surface of the lid over an area (as shown-the shaded area 30) which does not lie adjacent the hinge formed between the flap and a side of the container (i.e. the area 34 as shown is not adhered to the lid 26), whereby, when closed, the lid may first be lifted from the top of the body and then pivoted about the flap hinge. Upper flaps may be provided on each side of the body of the container, the flap 16 having a tab 18 which slots into the opposing flap 14 ; and a line of weakness 36 may be provided between the areas 30, 34 of the flap 16. The container may be sealed prior to initial closure of the flaps by adhering a panel (22-Fig. 1, not shown) to the open flaps and over the opening in the container.
