The pedestal can be rotated on rollers c resting on the base d and is provided with a hinged container f for the coal &c., a receptacle j for books, and a medicine cupboard or smokers' cabinet k. The table top t and the pedestal top n are provided with sockets to receive the supporting arm w of a reading-desk.
