Abstract

1486054 Transfer printing of tapestry canvas SIRDAR Ltd 2 March 1976 [28 May 1975] 23350/75 Heading DIB A tapestry canvas as defined comprising cellulosic fibres is coated with a plastic resin material having affinity for sublimation dyes followed by printing using a transfer sheet bearing a pattern printed thereon with sublimation dyes, the transfer sheet being heated to transfer the dye. The plastics resin material may be applied by padding, dipping, spreading or spraying a solution or dispersion thereof onto the canvas, preferred plastics resins being polyvinyl acetate, polyacrylonitrile, copolymers of polyacrylonitrile with polyesters. The canvas may be stiffened by application of starch before, during or after coating with the plastics-resin material.
