Abstract

1485066 Acrylate copolymer compositions MONSANTO CO 20 Feb 1975 16562/76 Divided out of 1485064 Heading C3P An emulsifiable concentrate comprises (i) a liquid acrylate copolymer consisting of 5-95% by weight of a (C 1-12 alkyl) acrylate and 95-5% of a different (C 3-24 alkyl) acrylate, with a weight average molecular weight of 2000- 10,000, (ii) an alkylated benzene and (iii) an emulsifier. The concentrate is used to prepare powdered processing aids for use in powder coating resins. Specified monomers used in the liquid copolymers are methyl, ethyl propyl, butyl amyl, hexyl heptyl, 2-ethylhexyl nonyl, decyl, dodecyl, pentadecyl heptadecyl, eicosyl and tetracosyl acrylates. The alkylated benzenes specified are ethyl benzene, xylene, mesitylene, diethyl benzene, propyl benzene, butyl benzene, cumene hexyl benzene, octyl benzene, decyl benzene, dodecyl benzene, hexadecyl benzene and octadecyl benzene. The only emulsifiers specified are ethylene oxide condensates.
