1484680 Hexabromobutene-2; flame retardant for polymers TENNECO CHEMICALS Inc 10 Dec 1974 [10 Dec 1973 24 April 1974] 53424/74 Heading C3P A flame retardant resinous composition comprises (a) a thermoplastic organic polymer selected from (i) homopolymers and copolymers of ethylene, propylene, isobutylene, vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, C 1-4 alkyl acrylates, C 1-4 alkyl methacrylates or acrylonitrile, or (ii) polyamides or polyoxymethylenes, and (b) 1,1,2,3,4,4-hexabromobutene-2. In the examples, the thermoplastic organic polymers are polyethylene (low and high density varieties), polypropylene and polyvinylchloride.
