Abstract

1484436 Straw shakers PIETRO LAVERDA SpA 14 Oct 1975 [18 Oct 1974] 41968/75 Heading A1F The straw shakers 1, 1a, 1b, 1c, of a combine harvester are provided with agitator arm 3, each agitator arm 3 being connected by a pin 4, a transverse lever 8, and a radial lever 10 to a transverse shaft 13 which is connected to the fixed parts of the combine in such a manner that the reciprocatory movement of the shaker induces a limited oscillation of the shaft 13, causing pivoting of the pin 4 about its longitudinal axis and hence a transverse reciprocatory movement of the agitator arms 3 so as to spread out and turnover the straw passing along the shaker. The pins 4 are supportably carried on the sides 7 of the shakers. Each agitator arm 3 projects through a riser 22 between two adjacent grid steps 21 and moves in a plane substantially paralled to the associated grid plane. The transverse shaft 13 is biased into position by means of springs 16 acting on a radial lever 15 keyed to one end of the shaft.
