Abstract
1484265 Curtain heading tapes BRITISH TRIMMINGS Ltd 8 Nov 1974 [10 Nov 1973] 52296/73 Heading D1K A curtain heading tape being woven or knitted with transverse laid-in wefts has curtain hook receiving formations 13 and one or more draw cords 11 by which it may be pleated and secured wherein pleating takes place at more foldable portions where the weft density is reduced. As shown, apertures 13 aligned in columns 14 extending across the tape can receive the hooks at different levels. Ends 17 of bulked polyester are knitted on a crochet machine into chain stitches. Between columns 14 unknitted wefts of bulked polyester and nylon monofil 18, 20 and 19, 21 are laid in by two pairs of feeders reciprocating in unison but 180‹ out of phase. During knitting of portions 16 and associated edge portions 23, weft ends 18, 20 and 19, 21 lie along the edges of the tape and again during the knitting of portions 15 which do not include any laid-in wefts. Ten laid-in weft ends of bulked polyester are arranged in five pairs and are laid in to form the edge portions 23 (see 24, 25) and the portions 16 (see 26, 27). These ends are fed by pairs of opposed feeders.
