Abstract
1481949 Hexafluoropropanone-2 from hexafluoropropene DAIKIN KOGYO CO Ltd 14 June 1976 [24 June 1975 29 May 1976] 24536/76 Heading C2C Hexafluoropropanone-2 is prepared by contacting hexafluoropropene with 0 2 in the presence of fluorinated alumina as catalyst. The catalyst preferably contains 0.5-50 wt. per cent of F and may be prepared by reacting calcined α- or #-alumina hydrate with a fluorinating agent. The oxidation is preferably performed at 100-250‹ C. using a CF 3 CF=CF 2 : O 2 molar ratio of 1 : 10 to 1 : 0À1, reaction pressure of 0-20 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> G. and contact time of 0À5 seconds to 30 minutes
