Abstract

148,178. Hein, H. W. J. Sept. 27, 1915, [Convention date]. Anchors.-In a " stockless " anchor having pivoted flukes, the difference between the span x, Fig. 3, of the flukes a and the span y of the laterallyextending arms d of the head to which the flukes are pivoted is made approximately one to six, so that the arms d bear upon ground outside the furrows made by the flukes. A longitudinal rib f is formed at the inner edges of the flukes on the upper and lower faces thereof. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the ribs f may be placed in the centre of the blades. An arrangement with a single fluke pivoted in an aperture in a laterally-widened portion of the shank is also described. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
