1481572 Blood filter PALL CORP 3 Oct 1974 42957/74 Addition to 1334555 Heading B1D A disposable blood filter is constructed as described in Patent No. 1334555 but the element is made of woven polyamide monofilaments of 20-50 Á diameter giving a pore size of 20-50 Á and an open area of 10-40%. The mesh may be square or rectangular. In the case of a pleated annular element, the ends of the element are embedded in or welded to end caps of various plastics including polyamide, and one end cap may be bonded to the outlet of the housing. The bonded polyamide may be supported on one or both sides by various materials, including extruded polypropylene netting. A comprehensive list of chemicals used to make polyamide is included.
