Abstract
1480953 Coated thermoplastic polymers WALES SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 29 Jan 1975 [4 Feb 1974] 5074/74 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C3 and H1] An article suitable for use as a radiation dosemeter comprises a sheet of thermoplastic polymer having a softening point not lower than 150‹C and an electrical resistivity of at least 10<SP>16</SP> ohm cm at 150‹C, the sheet being at least partially crystalline with a microcrystalline structure predominantly spherulitic or aligned parallel to the plane of the sheet, said sheet having on at least one face an electrically conductive coating. The coating may be applied by painting one or both sides of the sheet with colloidal graphite. Examples describe sheets of (1) polytetrafluoroethylene, (2) poly 4-methylpentene-1, (3) a mixture of polytetrafluoroethylene, poly 4-methylpentene-1 and titanium dioxide and(4) methylpentene copolymer, painted on both sides with colloidal graphite.
