1480825 Component assemblies BOSCH-SIEMENS HAUSGERATE GmbH 18 July 1974 [19 July 1973 24 July 1973(2)] 31976/74 Heading H1R A control device for an electrical appliance, e.g. as shown an automatic washing machine, comprises a circuit board 30 provided on one side 31 with receptors 33 into which are plugged the control means 34a to 34d for the appliance and on the other side 32 with circuitry, preferably printed, connecting the control means to each other end to their respective outputs formed as units 35 plugged into the edge of the board. The board is preferably pivotally mounted on the appliance housing and as shown the wiring on side 32 is protected by spaced cover 37. To avoid intersections of the wiring a further receptor 33 receives a plug-in connector module 40 whereby selective interconnections can be made. As shown in Fig. 8, module 40 comprises a printed circuit board wherein the printed wiring and terminals connectible to the circuitry on side 32 are spaced by a selected unit distance or whole number multiple thereof. Further terminals 47 may be provided for measurement or testing purposes. The connector module may alternatively comprise a plastics member having parallel slots for receiving jumper wires or stamped out conductive members, these having two or more terminal portions which can be forced through bores in the plastics member and through board 30 for connection to the circuitry on side 32 (Figs. 5, 6 and 9 to 11, not shown). These wires or conductive members may be severed to prevent unwanted interconnections. Suitably all the high-voltage components of the control device are combined in a single module, also plugged into a receptor 33 (Figs. 12, 13, not shown). This module may also incorporate the main switch and the heating switch, and-the heating output is connected directly to the module.
