1480728 Testing water UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 2 Sept 1974 [11 Sept 1973] 42698/73 Heading G1B Apparatus for monitoring the total CO 3 = content of acid dosed and aerated feed water and for controlling acid dosing thereof comprises means for removing a sample of acid dosed water, adding excess acid, stripping CO 2 therefrom, into a stripping gas and a katharometer by means of which the thermal conductivity of the strip gas is measured before and after stripping, the comparison of which values is used to control the acid addition. The sample may be stripped of CO 2 by means of a second strip gas before addition of the excess acid.
