Abstract

1480188 Melt-sprayed phenacetin granules and tablets thereof BAYER AG 4 April 1975 [6 April 1974] 13921/75 Heading A5B Melt-sprayed phenacetin granules are directly compressed into tablets optionally in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. Preferably at least 80% by weight of the phenacetin granules have a particle size of from 20 to 500 Ám. The granules may be in admixture with from 5 to 40% by weight of microcrystalline cellulose, from 5 to 30% by weight of starch and from 0.05 to 1% by weight of highly disperse silica, based on the total weight of the phenacetin. The tablets may also contain caffeine.
