Abstract
1480020 NO x -reduction catalyst JAPAN GASOLINE CO Ltd 4 Aug 1975 [6 Aug 1974] 32545/75 Heading B1E [Also in Division Cl] A NO x -reduction catalyst comprises a salt of a heteropolyacid with one or more metals of the first transition series supported on a carrier, the catalyst containing at least 0.5% wt of the salt. The salt may be a Cu, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co or Ni salt of silicotungstic, silicomolybdic, phosphotungstic or phosphomolybdic acid. The carrier may be alumina, silica, e.g. kieselguhr or silica-alumina and suitably has a specific surface of not less than 50 m<SP>2</SP>/g and a pore volume of 0.2-1.5 a/g. The catalyst may further contain one or more oxides of the metals of the first transition series. It may be formed by impregnation followed by calcination..
