Abstract

1479737 Dispensing liquids DAWE INSTRUMENTS Ltd 5 Sept 1974 [12 Sept 1973] 42820/73 Heading A4T [Also in Divisions Bl and H4] Apparatus for dispensing a liquid includes a container for the liquid, a tube 17 connecting the container to a dispensing tap so that in use the liquid flows through the tube to the tap, and an electro-mechanical transducer 11 for subjecting the liquid to vibration, the transducer being located within a casing 12 and having its radiating surface bonded to a wall 13 of the casing, to an external surface of which the tube 17 is attached. The transducer 11 and tube 17 are bonded to the wall 13 by epoxy adhesive 14, 18. The transducer 11, a Piezo-electric disc, is supplied with A.C. through the casing 12 and through a spring strip 15 connected to a circuit board 16. Applications referred to include the stimulating of chemical reactions in the liquid, frothing, degassing and homogenization; the particular application referred to is the frothing of beer in an electrically controlled metering and dispensing system. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1378692.
