Abstract

1479393 Conveyer on vehicle FOCO NEDERLAND BV 1 Sept 1975 [3 Sept 1974] 35883/75 Heading B8E [Also in Division B7] A vehicle 1 has conveyer means for moving load carriers 13, 14 in the form of wheeled containers along its platform 2 from a lift platform tail gate 7. The conveyer comprises an endless chain 11 passing over chain wheels 9, 10 at either end of a beam 8 which can be moved rearwards to an aperature position, Fig. 2, at the same time lowering flaps 19 to bridge the gap to the platform 7. The chain 11 has spaced driving carriages 12 with arms 20 to which one or more carriers can be coupled for conveyance. The bottom 17 of carrier 13 and the coupling members 22 on the arms 20 may have locating means as described in Specification 1,407,775 and a two armed lever 37 (Fig. 10) is urged by a spring 35 to engage a catch 34 on the bottom 17 but can be unlocked by extending a piston 39 to pivot the lever 37 to the horizontal disengaged position to allow removal of a carrier on to the platform 7. In another embodiment Figs. 12, 15 the load carriers 13 have pairs of fixed shaft wheels 15 and pivotal wheels 151 and are guided on to the coupling means by guide fingers 44, Fig. 12 engaging in the wheel mounting 45. Uprights 46 stop the carriers tipping during conveyence. Coupling is effected by units 22 having an edge 49 on pivoted arms 27 to engage an aperture 50 on the carrier under the urge of a spring 35 acting on a rod 47. A lifting plate 51 allows disengagement of the coupling.
