Abstract
1478376 Moulding foamed plastics DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 8 Oct 1974 [8 Oct 1973] 43635/74 Heading B5A An article of foamed thermoplastics material, e.g. packaging plates, Fig. 2, not shown, is produced by placing a heated sheet 1a in a moulding tool 1 so that it divides the cavity into two chambers, and then reducing the pressure on each side of the sheet so that it expands and conforms to the cavity wall profile. A stack of sheets, or strips, can be placed in the tool 1, and during expansion can be united together. The sheet can be formed from ethylene homopolymers and copolymers, vinyl chloride homopolymers or copolymers, or polypropylene.
