Abstract

1299346 Laminated packaging material NATIONAL DISTILLERS & CHEMICAL CORP 27 Jan 1970 [27 Jan 1969] 3894/70 Heading B5N [Also in Division B8] A material for use in packing meat (see Division B8) comprises a thermoplastic sheet having a plurality of spaced parallel absorbent cellulosic strips embedded in one face. The thermoplastic sheet may be polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene or polyvinyl chloride; a preferred embodiment comprises an external polyethylene layer and internal polypropylene layer containing the absorbent strips. The material can be made by extruding the plastic(s) layer and pressing the cellulosic strips into the surface by means of a roller. A tray may be formed by shaping the material between male and female mould dies.
