Abstract
1477923 Bricklayer's guide R D WATT and B W G ORR 17 Feb 1975 [20 Feb 1974] 7759/74 Heading E1S A bricklayer's guide comprises a frame for placing on a course of bricks to define a shallow trough for laying mortar therein, to obtain an even layer, the frame comprising two parallel spaced longitudinal members 11, 12 or 111, 112, at least one of which defines a right-angle section, and spacer members 13, 14 or 113, 114 therebetween; when laid on a course of bricks, one arm of the rightangle section extends downwardly outside the bricks, and the other arm extends inwardly over the bricks to define an edge of the trough, and the spacer members lie above the plane of the underside of the inner arm. Both longitudinal members may be of rightangle section, and may assist in aligning the bricks. The longitudinal members 111, 112 are hollow with fins 122 to define the rightangle section, and the arms of the U-section spacers 113, 114 fit in the ends thereof. A frame for a corner of a building is generally L-shaped in plan, with its arms constructed as defined above.
